Par 4
420 yds
410 yds
328 yds

A long, straight drive is required here. There is no bail out near the green. Consider laying up when the greens are fast and the pin is in the front.

An approach hit right of the green can easily go into the blackberry bushes or OB.

For many years this hole was judged to be the most difficult in the Sacramento Valley.

Par 4
320 yds
310 yds
268 yds

A short driveable 4 par. Hit it left and you may not find your ball

Beware going for the green when the pin is in the back. This easy hole may give you a fifty yard bunker shot-the hardest shot in golf

The right part of the fairway gives you the easiest approach to the pin.

Par 5
520 yds
480 yds
423 yds

An uphill 5 par with a difficult green. With OB on the right and water on the left, a straight drive is a must.

The elevated green offers many challenging pin locations. Put your approach above the pin and you can easily putt off the green.

Par 4
395 yds
380 yds
308 yds

Number 4 at Auburn Valley is deceptively difficult. First your drive must be accurately placed between 2 majestic oaks.

An approach that is not the correct distance will leave an extremely difficult chip or putt. Stay below the pin at all costs.

Par 5
520 yds
480 yds
423 yds

This downhill par 5 plays shorter than the yardage.

A long drive down the right side can reach the flat at the bottom of the hill. Take care hitting a fairway wood from the downhill lie as OB is in easy reach.

The green slopes front to back and a poorly struck shot will run long. Water will catch an errant approach to the left.

Par 3
165 yds
140 yds
105 yds

The par 3 sixth requires a carry over water.

A small, hidden stream will catch a shot to the right. The green slopes front to back and slightly left to right.

A shot played too long will settle under the willow trees and present a difficult chip.

Par 4
390 yds
378 yds
324 yds

This 4 par is one of the narrowest driving holes at Auburn Valley. Consider something less than driver as there is a small, hidden creek on the left and the fairway narrows at the 260 mark.

The green is long and narrow but relatively benign. You can make a long putt here. The bail out is to the right, difficult to get up and down if you miss left.

Par 3
200 yds
128 yds
110 yds

This 3 par has one of the most difficult greens you'll find anywhere. A par from the 200 yard championship tees is an accomplishment.

Check the pin placement here when you are on the 3rd tee. Beware the white pin. A tee shot past pin high presents an extremely difficult putt or chip. Putts tend to break more than you read.

Par 4
358 yds
342 yds
322 yds

Commit to the tee shot on 9. Drive over the creek to leave yourself a short pitch to this tricky green. If you choose to lay up, be safe-many have laid up into the hazard. You must stay left of the red plum off the tee.

In general its best to putt from right of the hole. Any pin location is difficult, especially if the pin is back. For a short hole, its a tough par.

Par 4
415 yds
395 yds
338 yds

Spectacular views greet you on the 10th tee. Long hitters can drive into the water on the left.

The green slopes front to back with difficult up and downs if you miss left or right. Play long to a back pin and you will do well to make bogey.

Par 4
435 yds
423 yds
359 yds

The fairway on 11 is generous, the green is not. Water lurks just 4 paces over the green on the left.

An approach played too far right can easily find the water. Best to play to the middle of this green and get away with a par.

Par 3
198 yds
165 yds
119 yds

Note the pin placement on 12 as you play down the 11th fairway. The tee shot is uphill and requires more club than the yardage indicates.

Water is quite close to the green on the left. The front of this green is the fastest at Auburn Valley.

Par 5
540 yds
515 yds
407 yds

The deceptive dogleg 13th is all risk and reward. A long driver over the corner will leave you in reach of this par 5 in two.

A mishit drive will be in the water or OB right. Playing safely down the left side should yield an easy par or birdie.

Par 4
435 yds
385 yds
325 yds

Another generous fairway is presented on 14. Stay left off the tee for the best angle to the green. The approach is uphill and can be deceptive.

The green runs toward the setting sun and is usually quite firm.

Par 4
445 yds
395 yds
325 yds

15 is the toughest tee shot on the backside. OB is very close on the right and water awaits a drive pulled or hooked.

The green is very narrow and difficult to hit. Approaching with a fade offers the best chance for a birdie putt. Chipping from right of the green is almost a sure bogey.

Par 3
225 yds
183 yds
120 yds

The flat 16th green offers an excellent chance for birdie. If you can hit it from 225 yards (the championship tee).

A forced carry over water is required.

Par 4
390 yds
380 yds
340 yds

You can play down the left side of 17 to shorten this slight dogleg left 4 par although this does bring the water hazard into play.

Don't be surprised to see the resident bobcat hunting under the willows. The narrow green presents a small target and the only easy chip is from in front.

Par 5
515 yds
505 yds
405 yds

The elevated green on 18 makes this short 5 par play longer than the yardage indicates. The fairway is wide and easy to hit.

Play down the left side for the shortest route to the green. Lay back to full wedge when the pin is up front. A short approach will roll back down the hill.
